🚆 Selection Process of Railway Recruitment Board Group D Recruitment 2026

The RRB Group D (Level-1) recruitment process consists of four stages. Candidates must qualify each stage to move to the next.

  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

  4. Medical Examination (ME)


🖥️ 1️⃣ Computer Based Test (CBT)

  • Mode: Online (Computer Based)

  • Duration: 90 Minutes

  • Type: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions)

Number System, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio & Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Simple & Compound Interest, Profit & Loss, Algebra, Geometry & Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern, etc.

🧠 b) General Intelligence & Reasoning

Analogies, Number & Alphabet Series, Coding-Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement–Arguments & Assumptions, Decision Making, etc.

🔬 c) General Science

Physics, Chemistry & Life Sciences of 10th standard level (CBSE).

📰 d) General Awareness & Current Affairs

Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and important national/international events.


🏃 2️⃣ Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates shortlisted based on CBT merit (up to 3 times the community-wise vacancies) will be called for PET.

⚠️ PET is qualifying in nature — marks will not be added to final merit.

🔹 Tie-Breaking Rule

If two or more candidates secure the same normalized percentile score:

  1. Older candidate will be ranked higher.

  2. If age is same, alphabetical order (A to Z) of the name will be considered.


🏥 4️⃣ Medical Examination (ME)

Final appointment is subject to:

  • Passing the prescribed Medical Fitness Test conducted by Railway Administration.

  • Verification of educational certificates.

  • Verification of community certificates.

  • Character and antecedent verification.
