Most Grade C and Grade D posts under the Government of Assam require an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate during recruitment. Therefore, registering your name in the Employment Exchange is mandatory to apply for many government jobs in Assam.

Earlier, registration was done offline. However, from 27th September 2021, the Department of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Assam digitized the entire process. Now, candidates can apply online, and manual registration has been discontinued.


🔔 Important Notice

Candidates who registered before 2nd January 2024 must complete re-registration through the SEWA SETU portal.
The re-registration service was extended up to 31st December 2024.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

🔹 Age Limit

Applicants must be 14 years or older and permanent residents of Assam.

🔹 Domicile

Registration is permitted in only one Employment Exchange within your district of permanent residence.

🔹 NOC for Employed Candidates

Already employed applicants seeking better opportunities must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current employer.


💻 How to Apply Online for Employment Exchange Registration

Applications must be submitted through the official portal of the Department. There are two methods:


🪪 1️⃣ AADHAAR Based Verification

Candidates with an Aadhaar Card (with Assam address) do not need to visit the office physically.

Steps:

  1. Visit the official registration portal.

  2. Click on “Online Employment Exchange Registration”.

  3. Click “Register” and enter:

    • Full Name

    • Email ID

    • Mobile Number

    • Password

    • State

  4. Choose “Apply with AADHAAR”.

  5. Login using Login ID and OTP/Password.

  6. Fill in personal and educational details.

  7. Upload all educational certificates (pass certificates & mark sheets from lowest to highest level) in one single PDF.

  8. Submit the application.

📩 After successful submission, the Employment Exchange Card (X-10) will be sent to your registered email.


📄 2️⃣ Non-AADHAAR Based Verification

Candidates without Aadhaar must follow this method and visit the office for verification.

Steps:

  1. Visit the official registration portal.

  2. Click “Online Employment Exchange Registration”.

  3. Click “Register” and fill required details.

  4. Choose “Apply without AADHAAR”.

  5. Login using Login ID and OTP/Password.

  6. Enter personal and educational details.

  7. Select date & time for document verification.

  8. Visit the respective Employment Exchange office.

  9. Complete document verification.

📜 After verification, you will receive the Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.

💳 Registration Fee for Employment Exchange Card (Assam)

Employment Exchange Registration in Assam is completely free of cost. Candidates do not need to pay any statutory fee to obtain the Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.

However, if you apply through a PFC (Public Facilitation Centre) or CSC (Common Service Centre), the following service charges may apply:

💰 Applicable Charges (if applied via PFC/CSC)

  • Statutory Charges: NIL

  • Service Charge: ₹30

  • Printing Charge: ₹10 per page

  • Scanning Charge: ₹5 per page

  • Convenience Fee: ₹10

🔄 Renewal of Employment Exchange Registration Certificate

Every registered candidate must renew their Employment Exchange Registration as per the following rules:

  • 🔁 Renewal is required once every 3 years in the due month mentioned on the Registration Card.

  • ⏳ A grace period of 3 months is allowed after the due month.

  • ❌ Failure to renew within the grace period will result in:

    • Cancellation of registration

    • Removal from the Live Register maintained by the Employment Exchange

  • 🚫 No renewal requests will be accepted after the grace period under any circumstances.
